Theater Tour at the Csokonai Theater
In February and March 2025, visitors will have several opportunities to take a guided tour of the Csokonai Theater, which was renovated in 2023. Led by actors, the tours expertly reveal the hidden spaces and secrets of the nearly 160-year-old building, such as the dressing rooms, the stage, and the set storage, which are typically unseen by the public.

Gilles Ségal: A Bábjátékos

The absurd play portraying the tragicomic life of Samuel Finkelbaum is still available to watch until the end of February at the Csokonai Theater. This production, a collaboration between the Csokonai National Theater Debrecen, the Maladype Theater, and the Federation of Jewish Communities in Hungary, is in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Holocaust.

2025. February 28 – Molnár Ferenc: Liliom Premiere 
In a production directed by István K. Szabó, Molnár Ferenc's suburban legend Liliom will be staged at the Csokonai Forum. The performance is recommended for audiences aged 14 and up.

"Illik a tánc a farsangnak, minden rongya fityeg annak" – Masquerade with Animal Costumes at the Vojtina Puppet Theater  
At the end of February, the carnival festivities will also arrive at Vojtina, where traditional customs will be recalled by performers in animal costumes. The performance is recommended for children aged 3 and up!

Story about Everything, Nothing, and Other Strange Tales – Chamber Play at the Vojtina Puppet Theater 
"Story about Nothing, Everything, Anything, the Impossible? What kind of tales are those where these concepts are the main characters? In the heart of our fairytale world, in a giant storybook, anything can happen. It’s a place for many different homes where magic, special transformations, and humorous adventures unfold. However, not everyone can easily navigate through the pages of the storybook — they need help. Dad is the one who helps little Bandi, a 5-year-old boy, as he wanders through different worlds. Naturally, Dad accompanies Bandi, and every day they move into the storybook, and whoosh, it’s time for dream-time and play!"

2025. March 2 – The Fawn Called Love Premiere – Vojtina Puppet Theater 

At the beginning of March, The Fawn Called Love, a puppet performance, will debut at the Playhouse. The text of the performance is based on video and audio recordings, photos, and written descriptions documented by Hungarian kindergarten teachers, capturing the free play, perspective, and language use of children.
